SA golfers bid for birdies in three top events
South Africa’s top golfers will be in action in three high-profile tournaments this weekend, with the Sunshine Tour, DP World Tour and PGA Tour all hosting events.
On the Sunshine Tour, the Vodacom Origins of Golf tournament will be played at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City.
The tournament is the first of three events in the Vodacom Origins of Golf series, and will see some of the country’s top golfers competing for a share of the R2 million prize pool.
On the DP World Tour, the ISPS HANDA World Invitational will be played at Galgorm Castle in Northern Ireland.
The tournament is the first of two co-sanctioned events between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour, and will see a field of 144 players competing for a share of the $1.5 million prize pool.
On the PGA Tour, the RBC Canadian Open will be played at St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto.
The tournament is the only PGA Tour event played in Canada, and will see a field of 156 players competing for a share of the $8.7 million prize pool.
All three tournaments will be televised live, and will provide South African golf fans with the opportunity to watch some of the country’s top golfers in action.
